We are switching to a new strap attachment system that is more durable and provides more options for fit and sizing. Here is a comparison of the old strap attachment and the new strap attachment:
The old system was made using a tri-glide toggle at the end of a folded piece of grosgrain ribbon. The new system uses a nylon webbing secured by a tri-glide.
The new system is 0.1 oz heavier, but allows the user to fine-tune strap length, add length for added layers or the pad attachment system, and adjust the angle at which the straps attach to the pack. Excess webbing can be trimmed to save weight.
